About me

Enthusiastic and determined towards goals; altruistic and decisive by nature.

I received my B.Tech degree in Biotechnology from National Institute of Technology Calicut. I'm conferred with the prestigious Prime Minister's Research Fellowship to pursue Ph.D. in the Interdisciplinary areas of Science and Engineering at School of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Guwahati. I joined IIT Guwahati in July 2018 under the supervision of Professor Vijay S. Moholkar and Dr. Lepakshi Barbora. I'm currently working on a novel technique for investigating and enhancing the production of alcoholic biofuels using microorganisms. Broadly, I do research in the core areas of Biotechnology and Environmental Engineering. Alongside, I'm interested in applying state-of-the-art techniques from mathematical biology, bioinformatics, and computational biology to understand biological systems and their behavior in complex environments. I have successfully completed the comparative genomic analysis of potential butanol-producing Clostridium sp. strains based on their central carbon metabolism and general stress response. Central carbon metabolism and stress response behavior play a key role in the regulation of butanol production in solventogenic Clostridia. Previously, I have worked on projects related to Drug Affinity Responsive Target Stability (DARTS), hydrothermal synthesis of carbon nanostructured materials, and conjugation chemistry with well-known antibacterial and anti-tumor drugs.
